The Wine Advocate rating: 94. To categorize 2002 Reserve, finest parcels of wine were selected from best blocks as they were fermenting. Indigenous or 'wild' yeasts, naturally present on grape skins were allowed to initiate fermentation. These 'wild' ferments have helped contribute to individual complexities of wine, creating richness and fine textures. Cabernet component was sourced mainly from Eden Valley, with Shiraz sourced from Barossa Valley. Concentrated deep red in colour, nose is full of deep red fruits with suggestions of mint and spicy cedary oak. Powerfully constructed and concentrated, palate is thick and ripe with juicy dark fruits combined with creamy oak, underpinned by velvety smooth tannins. Reserve is a wine that should be drinking at its optimum in 8-12 years from vintage.

The vineyard lies opposite a beautiful old Lutheran Church, built of local field stone, which was euphoniously named Gnadenberg, meaning‘Hill of Grace'. Very deep crimson in colour. The concentrated aromas are sweet, ripe and spicy with plums, prunes and blackberries complexed by hints of tar, anise, cedar and bacon. Yalumba Eden Valley Viognier 2010 is perfumed and luscious – displaying all essence of Viognier variety. It has pure aromas of apricot nectar, lifted honeysuckle and orange oil perfume. palate is long, rich and luscious, with intense stone fruit – particularly apricots – and finishing with an aromatic citrus freshness. Perfect with Moroccan food, spiced duck and anything lamb. This wine will continue to grow and develop in the bottle, firstly showing enhanced apricot and spice flavors, before developing honey flavors and toast after approximately two years.
