Very intense, dry and round in mouth it combines complexity of age with freshness of an expertly managed Solera, epitomising style of Sandeman Sherries. Sandeman Royal Esmeralda Fine Dry Amontillado has an attractive amber colour with golden highlights, opening onto a complex nose, where pungent notes of original fino have been gradually softened over years, creating a deeper, more fragrant wine. On palate it is clean and full, nutty, dry yet very smooth and light. Very complex with a long intense finish. Sandeman Royal Esmeralda Fine Dry Amontillado is perfect on its own as an aperitif, or as a match to salty cheese and smoked meats. The secret of fine sherry lies in its careful aging and blending. Lustau has perfected their technique and has been producing award-winning sherries since 1896. Since 1981, Lustau has selected small quantities of the finest quality sherries which have been matured by small independent producers, better known as "almacenistas". The word "almancenista" literally means storekeeper or stockholder in Spanish. Sandeman Character Medium Dry is a premium quality Amontillado Sherry, aged in small casks where pale wines slowly evolve into medium gold amber colours and flavours of subtle complexity develop.
